THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
SOUTHERN HICKMAN COUNTY IN TENNESSEE
NORTHERN LEWIS COUNTY IN TENNESSEE
* UNTIL 615 PM CDT
* AT 314 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM A CLUSTER OF SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS OVER
THE WARNED AREA.
* THE STORMS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL
AREAS.
RADAR ESTIMATES AS MUCH AS 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS THE
WARNED AREA. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE BEFORE THE STORMS WEAKEN.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
