...SNOW AND SLEET LIKELY THURSDAY FOR PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...
LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO EARLY
THURSDAY AND MOVE NORTHWARD THROUGH TN. AS THIS HAPPENS...A MIXTURE
OF RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE MID STATE DURING THE
DAY. AT THIS TIME IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS
MOSTLY SNOW ACROSS THE FAR NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF THE MID STATE
WHERE UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOWFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE.
ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF FAR NORTHERN MIDDLE TN INCLUDING THE
NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...A MIXTURE OF RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW CAN
BE EXPECTED WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 1 INCH POSSIBLE DURING THE
DAY.
FOR THE NASHVILLE AREA...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET WILL
BEGIN BY MID MORNING. A WINTRY MIX IS LIKELY THROUGHOUT THE
DAY...AND A FEW ICY SPOTS ON THE ROADWAYS IS A POSSIBILITY.
ACROSS SOUTHERN MIDDLE TN...THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS
RAIN WITH PERHAPS A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET EARLY.
ON THURSDAY NIGHT...THE PRECIPITATION WILL END AS SNOW FROM WEST TO
EAST. AN ADDITIONAL INCH OF SNOWFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
PLATEAU. THE STORM SYSTEM WILL BE FOLLOWED BY COLDER TEMPERATURES.
PLEASE MONITOR THE LATEST WEATHER UPDATES ON THIS DEVELOPING
STORM SYSTEM.
PEOPLE PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE
NORTHERN SECTIONS OF MIDDLE TN...SHOULD PREPARE FOR THE LIKELIHOOD OF
WINTRY WEATHER ON THURSDAY.
