TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHERN AND EASTERN ALABAMA
FLORIDA PANHANDLE
CENTRAL AND WESTERN GEORGIA
WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
WESTERN SOUTH CAROLINA
SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE
COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING FROM 740 PM UNTIL
600 AM EDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 0.5 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 120 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF
CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE TO 40 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF PANAMA CITY

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

DISCUSSION...LARGE AREA OF FAVORABLE SHEAR PROFILES AND
SUPERCELLULAR STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO POSE A RISK OF ISOLATED
TORNADOES THROUGH MUCH OF THE NIGHT. 0-1KM SR HELICITY VALUES OF
300-700 M2/S2 AND VERY MOIST AIR MASS WILL HELP MAINTAIN THE RISK.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
