THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...
CONVECTION OVERNIGHT IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN
BELOW SEVERE LIMITS...HOWEVER SMALL HAIL IS POSSIBLE IN ISOLATED
STORMS. HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND
NEAR THE KENTUCKY BORDER...WHICH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING IN
A FEW LOCATIONS.
SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS NORTHERN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG THE TENNESSEE...KENTUCKY BORDER...DUE TO
TRAINING OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THAT AREA. MEMPHIS RADAR
SHOWS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NORTHERN WEST TENNESSEE...BACK
INTO NORTHERN ARKANSAS. THIS ACTIVITY WILL MOVE ALONG THE
TENNESSEE...KENTUCKY BORDER OVERNIGHT...PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL
AMOUNTS...WHICH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING IN A FEW LOCATIONS.
THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING ON THE NOSE OF A LOW
LEVEL JET...IN AN AREA OF STRONG LOW LEVEL WARMING AND SURFACE
MOISTURE CONVERGENCE.
IN ADDITION...A WARM FRONT WILL PULL NORTHWARD INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE
OVERNIGHT. THE WARM FRONT WILL ENHANCE THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS THE NORTH HALF OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...
A DEEP LOW PRESSURE CENTER WILL MOVE ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY FRIDAY
NIGHT, DRAGGING A STRONG COLD FRONT ACROSS THE MID STATE DURING THE
LATE EVENING AND EARLY MORNING. IT APPEARS THAT SEVERAL ATMOSPHERIC
INGREDIENTS WILL COME TOGETHER TO CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE
STORM DEVELOPMENT ALONG OR JUST AHEAD OF THE SURFACE FRONT. IN
ADDITION TO LOW LEVEL SATURATION AND DEEP INSTABILITY, DRY AIR IN THE
MID LEVELS WILL INCREASE THE SEVERE STORM POTENTIAL, AND STRONG WIND
SHEAR JUST ABOVE THE SURFACE WILL ENHANCE SUPERCELL DEVELOPMENT.
AS A RESULT, THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS PLACED ALL OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE UNDER A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER, WITH A MODERATE
RISK OVER WEST TENNESSEE AND THE WESTERN FRINGES OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE FOR FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTERS AND EMERGENCY MANAGERS MAY BE NEEDED FRIDAY NIGHT. PLEASE
STAY TUNED TO SUBSEQUENT FORECASTS AND HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOKS.
