NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
300 PM CDT THU SEP 16 2004
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS UPDATED THE FLOOD WATCH
FOR SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. THE FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT
THROUGH 12 PM FRIDAY.
THE WATCH INCLUDES THE COUNTIES OF MAURY, HICKMAN, WILLIAMSON,
RUTHERFORD, MARSHALL, LEWIS, WAYNE, LAWRENCE, GILES, BEDFORD.
THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE IVAN ARE EXPECTED TRACK ACROSS INTO
EAST TENNESSEE BY LATE FRIDAY.
RAIN WILL CONTINUE SPREAD ACROSS SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE THROUGH
FRIDAY MORNING. LOCATIONS WITHIN THE WATCH AREA ARE FORECAST TO
RECEIVE 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...
DURING THIS EVENT.
SOME RIVERS ACROSS SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE MAY EXCEED THEIR FLOOD
STAGES AS RUNOFF FROM THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL ACCUMULATES. IN
ADDITION...PERSONS LIVING NEAR STREAMS AND CREEK BEDS WILL ALSO BE
PRONE TO FLOODING AS WATERS RISE.
