555 PM CDT THU OCT 21 2004

...F1 TORNADO STRUCK LAWRENCE COUNTY...

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY HAS DETERMINED A STRONG F1
TORNADO (73-113 MPH) STRUCK SOUTHEAST LAWRENCE COUNTY. THE TORNADO
STARTED IN TENNESSEE ON FRENCH ROAD...AND THEN MOVED NORTHEAST FOR
ABOUT 0.7 MILES TO NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 227 AND HIDE-AWAY
LANE. SEVERAL HOMES SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE. A MOBILE HOME WAS
COMPLETELY DESTROYED ON FRENCH ROAD. ANOTHER MOBILE HOME...USED AS
STORAGE...WAS OVERTURNED.

THE PATH WIDTH OF THE TORNADO WAS 200 YARDS. THE TORNADO WAS PART OF
THE STORM COMPLEX THAT CAME OUT OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY ALABAMA.

THE TORNADO STRUCK AROUND 615 PM CDT ON MONDAY OCTOBER 18. A
TORNADO WARNING WAS ISSUED 13 MINUTES EARLIER FOR LAWRENCE COUNTY
AT 602 PM CDT.
