THROUGH NOON...YOU CAN EXPECT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...WITH
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL...TO START MOVING BACK INTO MIDDLE
TENNESSEE FROM THE SOUTHWEST. AT 930 AM...STRONG SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING OVER WESTERN TENNESSEE AND NORTHERN
MISSISSIPPI...AND WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL IS FORECAST TO REACH WAYNE COUNTY...IN SOUTHWEST MIDDLE
TENNESSEE...BETWEEN 930 AM AND 1030 AM. WAYNE COUNTY HAS ALREADY
BEEN EXPERIENCING WIDESPREAD FLOODING THIS MORNING...AND ADDITIONAL
HEAVY RAINFALL WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THE FLOOD SITUATION. GILES AND
LAWRENCE COUNTIES...WHICH HAVE ALSO SEEN FLOOD PROBLEMS THIS
MORNING...WILL SEE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL RETURN BETWEEN 1000 AM AND
NOON. ISOLATED RAINFALL RATES OF BETWEEN ONE HALF AND ONE INCH AN
HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE.
OTHER SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED AROUND
WAVERLY...CENTERVILLE...LINDEN...HOHENWALD AND COLUMBIA.
THE REMAINDER OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE WILL ENJOY A TEMPORARY PERIOD
OF DRY WEATHER. HOWEVER...THAT WILL CHANGE BY THE AFTERNOON...
WHEN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME WIDESPREAD
OVER THE MAJORITY OF THE MID STATE.
