WATCH EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM TONIGHT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES.

...LAWRENCE...MARSHALL...BEDFORD...WILSON...RUTHERFORD...SMITH
...TROUSDALE...MACON...PICKETT...CLAY...JACKSON...FENTRESS...
...OVERTON...PUTNAM...CUMBERLAND...DEKALB...WHITE...WARREN...
CANNON...VAN BUREN...GRUNDY...COFFEE
THE WATCH AREA IS GENERALLY ALONG AND EAST OF LINE FROM SPRINGFIELD
TO WAYNESBORO...AND INCLUDES THE CITIES OF NASHVILLE...COLUMBIA...
LAWRENCEBURG...MURFREESBORO...COOKEVILLE...CROSSVILLE...LEWISBURG...
SHELBYVILLE...AND MANCHESTER.
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI
VALLEY THIS MORNING AND MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY
THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY TONIGHT. CONDITIONS WILL BE FAVORABLE
FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER MUCH OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...AND RAIN
TOTALS OF ONE AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES ARE LIKELY BY LATE AFTERNOON
ACROSS THE WATCH AREA. THERE WILL ALSO BE A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS
...ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTHERN AREAS NEAR THE ALABAMA BORDER.
RAINFALL TODAY AND THIS EVENING WILL LIKELY PRODUCE PONDING OF WATER
ON ROADS AND IN SOME POORLY DRAINED AREAS. SOME CREEKS AND STREAMS
MAY ALSO RISE TO NEAR BANKFULL.
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR FLOODING OF
STREAMS...CREEKS AND OTHER FLOOD PRONE AREAS. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH
AREA...CHECK PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...KEEP INFORMED...AND BE READY
FOR ACTION IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IF A FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED.
