**HAROLD WEAKENS TO A DEPRESSION**

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 170 miles northwest of South Padre Island TX or about 140
      miles west-northwest of Port Mansfield TX
    - 27.6N 99.3W
    - Storm Intensity 35 mph
    - Movement West-northwest or 290 degrees at 21 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

At 4 PM CDT, Tropical Storm Harold has weakened into a Tropical
Depression as it continues its westward track. This system will
continue to weaken this afternoon and evening as it makes its way into
northern Mexico. Tropical Storm Warnings have now been cancelled across
Deep South Texas, the Rio Grande Valley and the waters off the lower
Texas coast. Showers and possible isolated thunderstorms will still
continue through this evening, and isolated Tropical Storms force gusts
are still possible, especially in Jim Hogg and Zapata counties through
this evening. Along the coast, we could still see wave run-up into the
dunes, high surf through this evening and a high rip current risk into
Wednesday. Seas will remain hazardous with wave heights of 8-12 feet
and wind gusts up to 30 kts possible through this evening.
