.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides important information and recommended
actions for people in Guam and Rota.

.Watches/Warnings...
A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam. Tropical storm
conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are expected
Tuesday morning.

A tropical storm watch remains in effect for Rota. Tropical storm
conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more are possible
Tuesday.

Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed
information about additional hazards.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 7 PM ChST...the center of Tropical Depression 06W was located
near Latitude 12.1N...Longitude 146.0E. This was About 120 miles
southeast of Guam. Tropical Depression 06W was continuing to the
west-northwest at about 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35
mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Tropical Depression 06W will continue WNW and is expected to pass
south of Guam tonight and into Tuesday as it gradually intensifies
into a tropical storm Tuesday morning.

Folks in Guam and Rota should have preparations nearly complete
according to your tropical cyclone disaster plan specific to your
home or business.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Folks on Guam should be completing preparations for the onset of
damaging winds early Tuesday morning. Increasingly gusty winds and
heavy rains will cause outdoor activities to become dangerous. Loose
outdoor objects should be secured and boats should be securely
moored.

...Winds...
Winds will increase overnight to damaging levels of 30 to 40 mph
with gusts to 50 mph after midnight. Winds will shift to southeast
and subside to 20 to 25 mph late Tuesday afternoon.

...Storm surge and storm tide...
Swell and wind waves will quickly increase overnight with combined
seas peaking at between 10 and 13 feet and hazardous surf reaching
up to between 10 and 13 feet. Seas and surf will subside Tuesday
evening and overnight. Around times of high tide, windward facing
shores could see minor inundation of around 1 foot.

...Inland flooding...
Heavy showers will develop overnight with 3 to 5 inches of rainfall
possible through Tuesday evening. Heaviest rainfall will vary from
area to area and areas with heaviest rainfall possibly seeing short-
term flooding.

Folks on Rota should be completing preparations for the possibility
of damaging winds early Tuesday morning. While the latest forecast
track keeps damaging winds just south of Rota, small forecast changes
could bring damaging winds farther north. Loose outdoor objects
should be secured. Ensure boats are securely moored.

...Winds...
East winds will increase tonight to between 25 and 35 mph after
midnight then shift to the southeast Tuesday morning. Strongest winds
are expected in the morning hours, then will subside Tuesday
afternoon.

...Storm surge and storm tide...
Swell and wind waves will quickly increase overnight with combined
seas peaking at between 8 and 11 feet and surf reaching up to
hazardous levels of 9 and 12 feet. Seas and surf will subside Tuesday
evening and overnight. Around times of high tide, windward facing
shores could see minor inundation up to 1 foot.
