...TROPICAL DEPRESSION 16W HAS PASSED NORTH OF ENEWETAK...

.NEW INFORMATION...
None.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides information and recommended actions
for people on Enewetak in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A tropical storm watch remains in effect for Enewetak. Tropical
storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are
possible by this afternoon in heavy thunderstorms.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 16W was
located near Latitude 12.5 degrees North and Longitude 162.5 degrees
East...moving west at 17 mph. Maximum sustained winds remain at
35 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Tropical Depression 16W is moving west with strongest sustained winds
north and east of the center. The center has passed about 75 miles
north of Enewetak and is now moving away to the west. While 16W is
now a depression, winds may gust to tropical storm force in the
strongest thunderstorms. The tropical storm watch will likely be
cancelled at 5 PM ChST as TD 16W moves farther away from the atoll.

.NEXT UPDATE...
The next local statement will be issued by 900 PM this evening, or
sooner if needed.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Continue preparations for the possibility of damaging winds of 39 mph
or more this afternoon. Make sure tarps and other lightweight
structures are secured or taken down. Avoid unneeded travel by boat,
and make sure boats are properly moored. Stay up to date on the
latest information on Tropical Depression 16W.

...WIND INFORMATION...
West winds will shift to southwest this evening, then to southeast
by early Sunday morning. Maximum winds could gust to 35 mph this
afternoon in thunderstorms before diminishing this evening.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF INFORMATION...
Surf will be hazardous at 7 to 10 feet along west facing shores,
then shift around to southwest and south facing reefs at 6 to
9 feet by this evening. Surf should fall below hazardous levels
late tonight or early Sunday.

...RAINFALL...
>From 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible through tonight in heavy
thunderstorms as Tropical Depression 16W passes north of the atoll.
