.NEW INFORMATION...
None.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides information and recommended actions
for people on Enewetak in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A tropical storm watch remains in effect for Enewetak. Tropical
storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are
possible by this afternoon.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 700 AM...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 16W was
located 150 miles east-northeast of Enewetak near Latitude 12.5 degrees
North and Longitude 164.2 degrees East...moving west-southwest at
15 mph. 16W is expected to return to a westward motion and maintain
this general course and speed through the weekend. Maximum sustained
winds decreased to 35 mph. 16W may fluctuate between depression and
storm through the weekend.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Tropical Depression 16W is moving west-southwest with strongest sustained
winds north and east of the center. The center is expected to pass about
60 miles north of Enewetak this afternoon. While 16W is now a depression
winds may gust to tropical storm force north of the atoll. However, if 16W
dips south of its forecast track, or if the wind field expands, damaging
winds are still possible this afternoon as 16W passes.

.NEXT UPDATE...
The next local statement will be issued by 300 PM this afternoon,
or sooner if needed.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Continue preparations for the possibility of damaging winds of
39 mph or more this afternoon. Make sure tarps and other
lightweight structures are secured or taken down. Avoid unneeded
travel by boat, and make sure boats are properly moored. Stay up to
date on the latest information on Tropical Depression 16W.

...WIND INFORMATION...
Northeast winds at 15 to 20 mph will shift to north this
morning, to west in the afternoon, southwest this evening, then
to southeast by early Sunday morning. Maximum winds could rise to 25
mph early Saturday afternoon before diminishing in the evening.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF INFORMATION...
Surf will build this morning to hazardous at 7 to 10 feet along
west and north facing shores, then shift around to southwest and
south facing reefs at 6 to 9 feet by this evening. Surf should
fall below hazardous levels late to night or early Sunday.

...RAINFALL...
>From 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible today and tonight
as Tropical Depression 16W passes north of the atoll.
