Flood Watches are currently in effect across southern Middle
Tennessee.


DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 33.4 North, longitude 88.0 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 16 mph (26
km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (35 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast over the next 24 hours, and Beta is
expected to dissipate by Friday evening.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected through
early Friday from northeast Mississippi, across the Middle Tennessee
Valley and into the southern Appalachians.  Isolated flash
and urban flooding is possible, as well as isolated minor river
flooding on smaller rivers.

Across the remainder of the Carolinas rainfall of 1 to 3 inches
will be possible on Friday, potentially causing isolated flash,
urban, and small stream flooding.

TORNADOES:  An isolated tornado or two will be possible through
late this afternoon across portions of southern Alabama, western
Georgia and the Florida Panhandle.
