**HURRICANE SALLY TRACKING FURTHER EAST AND IMPACTS LESS LIKELY FOR
LAMAR AND FORREST COUNTIES**

    - All watches and warnings have been canceled

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 170 miles south-southeast of Hattiesburg MS
    - 29.1N 88.2W
    - Storm Intensity 85 mph
    - Movement Northwest or 315 degrees at 2 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Hurricane Sally will continue moving slowly northwestward and then
northward over the northern Gulf of Mexico today. The hurricane is
expected to remain at category one status through tonight until it
makes landfall along the southwest Alabama coast Wednesday morning.
Sally will then move northeastward on Wednesday. The forecast track of
the storm has continued to shift to the east and the threat for
tropical storm force winds has diminished across Lamar and Forrest
counties at this time, though winds will be gusty through Wednesday.


POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* FLOODING RAIN:
Additional impacts from flooding rain are still a concern across east
central and southeastern Mississippi. Remain well guarded against dangerous
flood waters having further impacts of significant potential.

Elsewhere across Central Mississippi, Northeast Louisiana, and
extreme Southeast Arkansas, little to no impact is anticipated.

* WIND:
Little to no additional wind impacts expected.

Elsewhere across Central Mississippi, Northeast Louisiana, and
extreme Southeast Arkansas, little to no impact is anticipated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
Remain safely sheltered until conditions improve. When going outside
be sure to stay away from downed power lines, hazardous debris and
flooded areas.

Do not go sightseeing within impacted communities. Sightseers
interfere with the emergency work of first responders.
