Tropical Weather Discussion for North America, Central America
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, northern sections of South
America, and Atlantic Ocean to the African coast from the
Equator to 32N. The following information is based on satellite
imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.

Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
1030 UTC.

...TROPICAL WAVES...

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 32W from 15N southward,
moving westward at 20 knots. Precipitation: the wave is moving
through the area of nearby ITCZ precipitation.

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 46W from 16N southward,
moving westward at 15 to 20 knots. Precipitation: the wave is
moving through the area of nearby ITCZ precipitation

A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 64W, from 20N southward,
moving westward at 20 knots. Precipitation: isolated moderate to
locally strong is from 21N southward between 63W and 70W.

A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 79W/80W, from 17N
southward, moving westward at 15 to 20 knots. Precipitation:
scattered moderate to strong is in the coastal waters of Panama,
associated with the monsoon trough, south of 12N between 76W and
83W.

...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ...

The monsoon trough passes though coastal Africa near 13N17W, to
09N24W, to 09N35W. The ITCZ continues from 09N35W, to 09N40W, to
06N46W, to 07N57W. Precipitation: scattered moderate isolated
strong is from 04N to 10N between 21W and 36W; and from 05N to
07N between 48W and 55W. Isolated moderate is elsewhere from 11N
southward from 60W eastward.

GULF OF MEXICO...

A tropical wave is exiting the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico.
The wave is moving through an area of upper level anticyclonic
wind flow. Precipitation: scattered moderate to locally strong
is in the coastal waters of Mexico from 22N to 27N west of 96W.

A surface ridge extends from a 1022 mb high in the NE Gulf
centered near 29N85W, to the coastal border of Texas and Mexico.

A surface ridge will prevail in the Gulf waters through the
weekend. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds are expected across
most of the basin through Tuesday.

CARIBBEAN SEA...

An upper level trough extends from a cyclonic circulation center
that is about 120 nm to the SSW of Jamaica, through the Windward
Passage, then northeastward to 32N57W in the Atlantic Ocean.
Precipitation: isolated moderate is in the Caribbean Sea from
18N to 20N from the Mona Passage westward.

A tropical wave is along 64W, from 20N southward, moving
westward at 20 knots. Precipitation: isolated moderate to
locally strong is from 21N southward between 63W and 70W.

A tropical wave is along 79W/80W, from 17N southward, moving
westward at 15 to 20 knots. Precipitation: scattered moderate to
strong is in the coastal waters of Panama, associated with the
monsoon trough, south of 12N between 76W and 83W.

Fresh to strong trades will prevail across the south central
Caribbean through the weekend. Winds may pulse to near gale
force along the coast of Colombia at night.

ATLANTIC OCEAN...

An upper level trough extends from a cyclonic circulation center
that is about 120 nm to the SSW of Jamaica, through the Windward
Passage, then northeastward to 32N57W in the Atlantic Ocean.
Precipitation: isolated moderate is within 300 nm either side of
a line that runs from near 20N70W to Bermuda.

Light to gentle winds will prevail across the northern waters
for several days as high pressure extends across the area from
the central Atlantic.
