**Tropical Storm Warning for Part of the Eastern Midlands in South
Carolina**

NEW INFORMATION
---------------

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - None

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Bamberg, Calhoun,
      Clarendon, Lee, Orangeburg, and Sumter

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 200 miles south-southeast of Columbia SC or about 210
      miles southeast of Augusta GA
    - 31.3N 79.6W
    - Storm Intensity 115 mph
    - Movement North or 10 degrees at 7 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

The center of Hurricane Dorian is forecast to track close to the
Georgia coast tonight and South Carolina coast Thursday. The storm
will bring tropical storm force winds to parts of the eastern Midlands
of South Carolina. There will also be periods of showers with heavy
rain and possible localized flooding.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Protect against dangerous wind having possible significant impacts
across the eastern Midlands of South Carolina. Potential impacts in this area
include:
    - Some damage to roofing and siding materials, along with damage
      to porches, awnings, carports, and sheds. A few buildings
      experiencing window, door, and garage door failures. Mobile
      homes damaged, especially if unanchored. Unsecured lightweight
      objects become dangerous projectiles.
    - Several large trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater
      numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Several
      fences and roadway signs blown over.
    - Scattered power and communications outages.

Also, protect against hazardous wind having possible limited impacts
across central South Carolina and eastern Georgia.

* FLOODING RAIN:
Protect against dangerous rainfall flooding having possible
significant impacts across the eastern Midlands of South Carolina. Potential
impacts include:
    - Rivers and tributaries may quickly become swollen with swifter
      currents and overspill their banks in a few places, especially
      in usually vulnerable spots. Small streams, creeks, canals,
      arroyos, and ditches overflow.
    - Some streets and parking lots take on moving water as
      storm drains and retention ponds overflow. Driving conditions
      become hazardous. Some road and bridge closures.

Elsewhere across the Midlands of central South Carolina and east
central Georgia CSRA, little to no impact is anticipated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
----------------------------------

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
If heading to a community shelter, become familiar with the shelter
rules before arrival, especially if you have special needs or have
pets. Take essential items with you from your Emergency Supplies Kit.

Rapidly rising flood waters are deadly. If you are in a flood-prone
area, consider moving to higher ground. Never drive through a flooded
roadway. Remember, turn around don't drown!

Closely monitor weather.gov, NOAA Weather radio or local news outlets
for official storm information. Be ready to adapt to possible changes
to the forecast. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather
warnings.
