.NEW INFORMATION...
Typhoon Warnings have been canceled for Tinian and Saipan.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides information and recommended actions
for people on Tinian, Saipan, Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan in the
Northern Mariana Islands.

.Watches/Warnings...
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the islands of
Agrihan, Pagan and Alamagan in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Damaging winds of 39 mph or higher are expected.

Typhoon Warnings have been canceled for Tinian and Saipan.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 7 AM ChST...the center of Typhoon Bualoi (22W) was located
near Latitude 16.7N...Longitude 145.5E. This was About 225 miles
north of Guam and 110 miles north of Saipan. Storm Motion was
northwest. Storm Intensity was 130 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Typhoon Bualoi continues to track steadily northwestward, and
this motion is expected to continue through Wednesday. This will
bring damaging winds to Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan through this
evening.

For Tinian and Saipan, conditions will improve across the region
as Bualoi pulls farther away.

For Agrihan, Alamagan and Pagan, preparations for damaging winds
should have been completed.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain in safe shelter or sturdy structure away from the ocean until
weather conditions improve. Small craft should remain in port and
well secured.

Closely monitor advisories from the National Weather Service and
announcements by local emergency management offices for the latest
storm information.

Service in Tiyan around 3 PM...or sooner if conditions warrant.

Damaging winds are no longer expected. Expect southwest winds
20 to 25 mph decreasing to 15 mph this afternoon.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF...
Hazardous surf of 10 to 12 feet along north and east facing
reefs will persist through the day, subsiding to below hazardous
levels by tonight.

early Wednesday morning. Small craft should remain in port and well

...WINDS...
For Alamagan, damaging east winds of 45 to 55 mph are expected
through the day, then shifting to southeast and diminishing in the
late afternoon.

For Pagan, damaging east winds at 35 to 45 mph will persist through the
day before shifting to southeast and diminishing by evening.

For Agrihan, damaging east to southeast winds at 35 to 45 mph are
expected between about noon and 7 PM this evening.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF...
Coastal inundation of 2 to 3 feet is possible today and tonight, mainly
along east, south and west facing reefs. Hazardous surf exceeding 9 feet
 is likely along south and west facing beaches
Tuesday and Tuesday night.

...OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
3 to 5 inches of rainfall is possible as Bualoi passes today
and tonight. Minor flooding may occur.
