...SUPER TYPHOON HAGIBIS CONTINUES AWAY FROM THE MARIANAS...

.NEW INFORMATION...
Tropical Storm Warnings have been canceled for Guam and Rota.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides important information and
recommended actions for people the Northern Marianas.

.Watches/Warnings...
A Typhoon Warning continues for Tinian, Saipan, Alamagan and
Pagan Islands. Typhoon conditions have likely ended over these
islands but damaging winds will persist across Tinian and Saipan
through this afternoon and through early this evening at Alamagan
and Pagan.

A Tropical Storm Warning continues for Agrihan Island. Damaging
winds will persist across the island through this afternoon.

Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed
information about additional hazards.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 2 PM ChST...the center of Super Typhoon Hagibis (20W) was
located near LATITUDE 17.2N...LONGITUDE 143.1E. This was About
225 miles northwest of Saipan. Hagibis was moving west-northwest
at 15 mph with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Super Typhoon Hagibis will continue away from the Marianas with a
gradual turn to the northwest through Wednesday. Conditions will
improve across the region as Hagibis pulls farther away.

.NEXT UPDATE...
The next local statement will be issued by the National Weather
Service in Tiyan around 9 PM...or sooner if conditions warrant.

Remain in safe shelter or sturdy structure away from the ocean.
Weather conditions continue to improve but damaging winds will
linger a few more hours.

Closely monitor advisories from the National Weather Service and
announcements by local emergency management offices for the latest
storm information.

...Winds...
Destructive southwest winds of 45 to 60 mph are subsiding but
damaging winds of 30 to 45 mph will continue a couple more hours.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...
Combined seas of 15 to 22 feet will slowly subside to between 12
and 18 feet tonight. Dangerous surf of 15 to 18 feet will
continue through tonight, then subside to hazardous levels of 12
to 14 feet Wednesday. Inundation of 2 to 4 feet remains probable
through tonight along windward coasts.

...OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible through tonight.
The risk of flooding has diminished, but brief heavy downpours
could cause standing or ponding of water on roads and low-lying
areas.

of 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 40 mph are expected
through tonight.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF...
Dangerous surf of 12 to 17 feet will persist along south and west
facing reefs through tonight, becoming hazardous at between 10 and
14 feet on Wednesday. Surf will build along north facing shores by
Thursday.

weather conditions improve late this afternoon. Destructive winds
have ceased but damaging winds will continue several more hours.

Closely monitor advisories from the National Weather Service and
announcements by local emergency management offices for the latest
storm information.

...WINDS...
Damaging south to southeast winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts will
subside to between 30 to 35 mph by this evening.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...
Combined seas of 15 to 20 feet will subside to between 13 and 16
feet this evening. Dangerous surf of 17 to 22 feet will subside
to between 14 and 16 feet this evening. 1 to 3 feet of inundation
remains probable along windward coasts through this evening.

...OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Widespread heavy rain is no longer expected, however an additional
1 to 2 inches of rainfall is possible through tonight.

will continue through this afternoon before subsiding further
this evening.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...
Combined seas of 12 to 15 feet will continue through this afternoon,
then gradually subside to between 8 and 12 feet this evening.
Dangerous surf of 14 to 17 feet is expected through this afternoon
before gradually decreasing to between 11 and 13 feet this evening.
Up to 2 feet of inundation remains probable along windward coasts
through this evening.

...OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Heavy, widespread rainfall has ended, but an additional 1 to 2
inches of rainfall is possible through tonight.
