.NEW INFORMATION...
None.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides important information and recommended
actions for people in Select locations within Guam and the Northern
Marianas.

.Watches/Warnings...
A Tropical Storm Warning continues for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and
Saipan.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions
including winds of 39 mph or greater, are expected tonight through
Wednesday morning.

Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed
information about additional hazards.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 1 PM ChST...the center of Tropical Depression 29W was located
near LATITUDE 10.2N...LONGITUDE 149.0E. This was About 360 miles
southeast of Guam. 29W was moving west-northwest at 16 mph with
maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
29W will continue west-northwest through Wednesday night, passing
south of Guam late tonight or early Wednesday morning. It will
gradually strengthen and could become a tropical storm as it
passes south of Guam overnight.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain in safe shelter or sturdy structure away from the ocean until
weather conditions improve. Small craft should remain in port and
well secured.

Closely monitor advisories from the National Weather Service and
announcements by local emergency management offices for the latest
storm information.

The next local statement will be issued by the National Weather
Service by 9 PM this evening...or sooner if conditions warrant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Preparations for the onset of damaging winds should be completed
as soon as possible. Secure loose outdoor items and patio
furniture, or move them indoors. Secure or dismantle tents,
canopies and tarps. For those still living in tents on Tinian and
Saipan, find safe and sturdy structure through Wednesday morning.

...Winds...
Strong trades extend well north of Tropical Depression 29W. Northeast
winds of 25 to 35 mph will increase to between 35 to 45 mph with
gusts to 55 mph this evening. As 29W passes south of Guam late
tonight, winds will shift to the east tonight and increase
farther, to between 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Winds will
decrease to between 30 and 40 mph Wednesday afternoon with higher
gusts. These winds will be felt across Guam and Rota. Slightly lower
winds expected for Tinian and Saipan.

...Storm surge and storm tide...
Coastal inundation of 2 to 3 feet is possible as 29W passes tonight.
The broad area of strong to near-gale force winds and west-northwest
motion of Tropical Depression 29W will produce dangerous surf heights
of 15 to 25 feet tonight and early Wednesday. Surf will gradually
subside late Wednesday but remain hazardous through the weekend.

...Inland flooding...
3 to 5 inches of rain is possible through Wednesday. Flash flooding
is possible in flood-prone areas and steep valleys.
