THIS LOCAL STATEMENT PROVIDES INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDED ACTIONS
FOR PEOPLE IN GUAM AND ROTA OF THE MARIANA ISLANDS AND FAIS AND
ULITHI IN YAP STATE.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR FAIS AND ULITHI IN YAP
STATE.

.STORM INFORMATION...
AT 100 PM...THE CENTER OF TYPHOON MAN-YI WAS LOCATED NEAR 11.1
DEGREES NORTH AND 141.0 DEGREES EAST. THIS WAS ABOUT 100 MILES NORTH-
NORTHEAST OF FAIS AND ABOUT 305 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF GUAM. MAN-YI
WAS MOVING WEST-NORTHWEST AT 26 MPH WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF
85 MPH.

GUAM IS NOW IN COR 4 AND THE TROPICAL STORM COR 2 HAS BEEN CANCELED
FOR ROTA.

MORNING AS HEAVY SHOWERS MOVE OVER THE REGION. BRIEF FLOODING OF
ROADS AND LOW-LYING AREAS IS POSSIBLE IN THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS.

TYPHOON MAN-YI IS BEGINNING TO MOVE AWAY TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST.
HOWEVER...DAMAGING SUSTAINED WINDS OF 39 MPH OR MORE WILL LAST
ANOTHER FEW HOURS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING BEFORE SUBSIDING. REMAIN
SHELTERED IN PLACE UNTIL WINDS DECREASE THIS EVENING.

DAMAGING WEST WINDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH WILL SHIFT TO SOUTHWEST AND
DECREASE TO BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS
MAN-YI QUICKLY MOVES AWAY.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF INFORMATION...
COMBINED SEAS OF 12 TO 16 FEET WILL DECREASE THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS
AND WILL FALL TO BETWEEN 8 AND 12 FEET FRIDAY MORNING. DANGEROUS
SURF OF 10 TO 15 FEET WILL BEGIN TO SUBSIDE THIS EVENING...POSSIBLY
FALLING BELOW 9 FEET BY FRIDAY EVENING.
