FOR PEOPLE ON CHUUK...PULUWAT...ULUL...FANANU...LOSAP AND LUKUNOR IN
CHUUK STATE.

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR LOSAP AND LUKUNOR.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR CHUUK...PULUWAT...ULUL
AND FANANU.

.STORM INFORMATION...
AT 7 AM CHST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION 34W WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 4.5N...LONGITUDE 156.2E. THIS WAS ABOUT 180 MILES EAST-
SOUTHEAST OF LUKUNOR, 290 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LOSAP AND 360 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF CHUUK. TROPICAL DEPRESSION 34W HAS MOVED WEST-NORTHWEST
AT 10 MPH. THE MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS NEAR THE CENTER WAS 30 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
THE CURRENT TRACK BRINGS 34W NEAR LOSAP THIS AFTERNOON AS A TROPICAL
STORM WITH WINDS UP TO 50 MPH AND INTENSIFYING. IF IT CONTINUES ON
THIS WEST-NORTHWEST TRACK...THEN 34W WILL PASS NORTHWEST OF MOST
LOCATIONS IN CHUUK STATE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. SLIGHT CHANGES TO THE
FORECAST ARE STILL POSSIBLE SO ALL RESIDENTS SHOULD CONTINUE TO
MONITOR SUBSEQUENT FORECASTS AND ADVISORIES FOR ANY CHANGES THAT
MAY IMPACT YOUR ISLAND.
