**ALBERTO CONTINUES TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE AREA WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN
 STRENGTH**

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - The Tropical Storm Warning has been cancelled for Coastal
      Citrus, Coastal Hernando, Coastal Levy, and Coastal Pasco

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Storm Surge Watch is in effect for Coastal Citrus and Coastal
      Levy

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 170 miles west-southwest of Cedar Key FL
    - 28.5N 85.8W
    - Storm Intensity 65 mph
    - Movement Northwest or 315 degrees at 9 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

OVERVIEW...

Subtropical Storm Alberto continues to move northwestward over the
northern Gulf of Mexico away from the local area. The primary concerns
at this time are storm surge flooding along the Citrus and Levy county
coasts, brief heavy rain, isolated tornadoes, and gusty winds in rain
bands.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* SURGE:
Potential impacts from the main surge event are now unfolding along
Citrus and Levy county coastlines. Potential impacts include:
    - Localized inundation with storm surge flooding mainly along
      immediate shorelines and in low-lying spots, or in areas
      farther inland near where higher surge waters move ashore.
    - Sections of near-shore roads and parking lots become overspread
      with surge water. Driving conditions dangerous in places where
      surge water covers the road.
    - Moderate beach erosion. Heavy surf also breaching dunes, mainly
      in usually vulnerable locations. Strong rip currents.
    - Minor to locally moderate damage to marinas, docks, boardwalks,
      and piers. A few small craft broken away from moorings.

Elsewhere across West Central and Southwest Florida, little to no
impact is anticipated.

* FLOODING RAIN:
Limited impacts are expected across west central and southwest
Florida. These impacts include:
    - Rivers and tributaries may rise above flood stage with
      swifter currents. Small streams, creeks, canals, and
      ditches may become swollen and overflow in spots.
    - A few places where rapid ponding of water occurs at underpasses,
      low-lying spots, and poor drainage areas.

* TORNADOES:
Although the threat is low, protect against a tornado event having
      possible impacts across West Central and Southwest Florida
      which include:
    - A few places may experience tornado damage, along with power and
      communications disruptions.

* WIND:
Little to no impacts are anticipated at this time across West Central
and Southwest Florida.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
----------------------------------

* EVACUATIONS:
Listen to local official for recommended preparedness actions,
including possible evacuation. If ordered to evacuate, do so immediately.

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
Keep your cell phone charged and in power-saving mode. If you lose
power, use it sparingly and mainly for personal emergencies and
check-ins.

If you are prone to flooding or in an area under a storm surge watch
or warning, be prepared for the possibility of a quick rise in water
levels.

If a tornado warning is issued for your area, quickly move to the
safest place within your shelter. Protect your head and body.
