* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - None

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Camden, Eastern
      Currituck, Pasquotank, and Western Currituck

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 590 miles south-southeast of Ocean City MD or about 510
      miles south-southeast of Norfolk VA
    - 30.0N 73.0W
    - Storm Intensity 90 mph
    - Movement North or 360 degrees at 8 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

* HURRICANE MARIA WILL MOVE NORTHWARD WELL OFF THE SOUTHEAST U.S.
COAST THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT BEFORE MEANDERING OFF THE NORTH CAROLINA
OUTER BANKS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH TROPICAL
STORM FORCE WINDS POSSIBLE ACROSS COASTAL NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA
INTO WEDNESDAY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE HIGH SURF...WHILE ALSO
ALLOWING FOR SOME BEACH EROSION AS WELL AS DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS
ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST.

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT IMPACT WILL BE COASTAL FLOODING AT TIMES OF HIGH
TIDE...WITH MODERATE TO MAJOR COASTAL FLOODING LIKELY. *

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Prepare for dangerous wind having possible significant impacts across
northeast North Carolina. Potential impacts in this area include:
    - Some damage to roofing and siding, along with damage to
      porches, awnings, carports, and sheds. Some buildings
      experience window, door, and garage door failures. Mobile homes
      damaged, some destroyed, especially if poorly anchored or
      exposed to wind. Unsecured lightweight objects become dangerous
      projectiles.
    - Large trees snapped or uprooted, especially in areas where
      soils are saturated. Some roadway signs will be blown over.
    - Some roads will be impassable from large debris including
      bridges, causeways, and access routes.
    - Scattered to widespread power and communications outages.

Also, prepare for hazardous wind having possible limited impacts
across northeast North Carolina.

* SURGE:
Little to no impacts are anticipated at this time across NORTHEAST
NORTH CAROLINA.

* FLOODING RAIN:
Little to no impacts are anticipated at this time across NORTHEAST
NORTH CAROLINA.

* TORNADOES:
Little to no impacts are anticipated at this time across NORTHEAST
NORTH CAROLINA.

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
* Now is the time to check your emergency plan and take necessary
actions to secure your home or business. Efforts should be underway
to protect life and property. Ensure that your Emergency Supplies Kit
is stocked and ready. If planning or instructed to evacuate, know
where you will go

If you live in a place that is vulnerable to high wind, such as a
mobile home, an upper floor of a high rise building, or on a boat,
plan to move to safe shelter. Take enough supplies for you and your
family for several days.

If you live in a place vulnerable to flooding, such as near the
ocean, bay, sound, a low-lying or poor drainage area, or near an
already swollen creeks or rivers, plan to move to safe shelter or
higher ground.

Heed the advice of local officials, and comply with any evacuation
orders that are issued.

When securing your property, outside preparations should be conducted
before conditions deteriorate. The onset of strong gusty winds and
heavy rain can cause preparedness activities to become unsafe.

Let friends and other family members know of your intentions and
whereabouts for surviving the storm. For emergency purposes, have
someone located away from the threatened area serve as your point of
contact. Keep cell phones handy and well charged.

If possible, assist those who may not be fully aware of the
situation, or who are unable to make personal preparations.

Closely monitor NOAA Weather Radio or other local news outlets for
official storm information. Pay attention to any changes in the
forecast.
