**DISTURBANCE MOVING AWAY FROM THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST**

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - All watches and warnings have been canceled

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - None

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 90 miles northeast of Buxton NC or about 160 miles
      east-northeast of Morehead City NC
    - 36.0N 74.3W
    - Storm Intensity 45 mph
    - Movement Northeast or 50 degrees at 24 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW

The low pressure area will continue to move away from the North Carolina
coast tonight while gradually strengthening, which will product gusty
north to northwest winds across the Outer Banks tonight. Minor water level
rises will also be possible along sound-side locations of the Outer Banks
tonight. High surf and dangerous rip currents will continue to be a threat
along the beaches north of Cape Hatteras through Wednesday.

* SURGE:
Northerly winds on the back side of the departing low pressure system may
bring up to 2 feet of inundation to vulnerable areas along the sound-side
of Outer Banks Dare and Hyde Counties.

    - Localized inundation with storm surge flooding mainly along
      immediate shorelines and in low-lying spots.
    - Sections of near-shore roads and parking lots become overspread
      with surge water. Driving conditions dangerous in places where
      surge water covers the road.
    - Moderate beach erosion. Heavy surf also breaching dunes, mainly
      in usually vulnerable locations. Strong rip currents.

Elsewhere across Eastern North Carolina, little to no impact is
anticipated.

No evacuations orders were issued.
