    - MOVEMENT EAST OR 85 DEGREES AT 10 MPH

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE HERMINE LOCATED SOUTH OF VIRGINIA BEACH WILL MOVE
NORTHEAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS...MAKING ITS CLOSEST APPROACH TO ST.
MARYS COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. RAIN HAS ENDED OVER ST. MARYS COUNTY
BUT WIND GUSTS TO TROPICAL STORM FORCE WILL CONTINUE THIS
AFTERNOON ESPECIALLY AT POINT LOOKOUT BEFORE BEGINNING TO DIMINISH
THIS EVENING.

HERMINE IS EXPECTED TO SLOW DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY SUNDAY BUT IS
EXPECTED TO REMAIN FAR ENOUGH EAST OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY TO KEEP
FROM PRODUCING ANY SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS

* WIND: POTENTIAL IMPACTS FROM THE MAIN WIND EVENT ARE NOW
  UNFOLDING ACROSS ST. MARY'S COUNTY. WIND IMPACTS. IF REALIZED

THESE IMPACTS INCLUDE:
    - DAMAGE TO PORCHES, AWNINGS, CARPORTS, SHEDS, AND UNANCHORED
      MOBILE HOMES. UNSECURED LIGHTWEIGHT OBJECTS BLOWN ABOUT.
    - MANY LARGE TREE LIMBS BROKEN OFF. A FEW TREES SNAPPED OR
      UPROOTED, ESPECIALLY WHERE THE GROUND IS SATURATED. SOME FENCES
      AND ROADWAY SIGNS DAMAGED.
    - A FEW ROADS IMPASSABLE FROM DEBRIS, ESPECIALLY IN HEAVILY
      WOODED AREAS. HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ON BRIDGES AND OTHER
      ELEVATED ROADWAYS.
    - SCATTERED POWER AND COMMUNICATIONS OUTAGES.

ELSEWHERE ACROSS EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA, CENTRAL AND WESTERN MARYLAND,
NORTHERN AND NORTHWESTERN VIRGINIA, AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, LITTLE
TO NO IMPACT IS ANTICIPATED.
