A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE EAST FACING SHORES OF
THE BIG ISLAND...KAUAI...OAHU...MOLOKAI...AND MAUI.

AT 5 AM HST...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE LESTER WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 18.4N...LONGITUDE 143.7W...OR ABOUT 750 MILES EAST OF
HILO...OR ABOUT 945 MILES EAST OF HONOLULU. HURRICANE LESTER IS
MOVING WEST AT 14 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 105 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
HURRICANE LESTER IS FORECAST TO APPROACH THE STATE FROM THE EAST
OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE CURRENT CENTRAL PACIFIC
HURRICANE CENTER FORECAST BRINGS LESTER VERY CLOSE TO THE MAIN
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. DEPENDING ON THE EXACT
TRACK THAT LESTER TAKES...STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND HEAVY
RAINFALL ARE POSSIBLE. LARGE AND DAMAGING SURF IS EXPECTED FOR
EAST FACING SHORES AS WELL. IT IS STILL TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE
