DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Fiona
was located near latitude 24.4 North, longitude 58.4 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph
(30 km/h). A continued west-northwestward motion with a gradual
decrease in forward speed is forecast later today and on Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, but
Fiona could become a post-tropical remnant low in the next day or
two.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
