A TYPHOON WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR YAP ISLAND IN YAP STATE.
TYPHOON CONDITIONS ARE NO LONGER EXPECTED...HOWEVER THE TYPHOON
WARNING WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL DAMAGING WINDS ARE NO
LONGER EXPECTED...LATER THIS AFTERNOON.

TYPHOON NOUL IS MOVING TO THE WEST AT 5 MPH AND AWAY FROM YAP
ISLAND. A WEST-NORTHWESTWARD TURN WITH SLOW INTENSIFICATION IS
EXPECTED OVERNIGHT AND THURSDAY. TYPHOON FORCE WINDS HAVE ENDED AT
YAP...BUT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST ACROSS YAP ISLAND
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMAIN IN A STURDY SHELTER AWAY FROM SHORELINES UNTIL DAMAGING
TROPICAL STORM WINDS SUBSIDE LATER THIS AFTERNOON. DO NOT ATTEMPT
ANY INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL UNTIL SEAS AND WINDS SUBSIDE OVER THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS.

DAMAGING SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 30 TO 50 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH OVER
WESTERN WATERS WILL CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE OF MORE HOURS THIS
AFTERNOON THEN DECREASE FURTHER TO BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH OVERNIGHT.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF INFORMATION...
DANGEROUS SURF OF 14 TO 18 FEET THIS AFTERNOON WILL DECREASE TO
BETWEEN 12 AND 16 FEET OVERNIGHT AND 9 TO 12 FEET THURSDAY. COASTAL
INUNDATION AROUND 1 FOOT IS POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY AT HIGH TIDE
TONIGHT. STRONG SOUTHEAST WINDS THIS AFTERNOON PROMOTE A HIGHER
WATER LEVEL IN COLONIA (TAMIL) HARBOR AND LAGOON.

YAP HAS RECEIVED NEARLY 11 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 36 HOURS.
ANOTHER 1 TO 3 INCHES IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT AS OUTER RAIN BANDS PASS
OVER THE ISLAND. DUE TO THE SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL...THERE IS AN
ELEVATED RISK OF MUDSLIDES SO STAY AWAY FROM STEEP SLOPES MADE OF
CLAY OR VOID OF VEGETATION.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
THE TRACK OF NOUL KEEPS THE OUTER RANGE OF DAMAGING WINDS TO THE
NORTH OF NGULU. AVOID VENTURING NEAR REEFS WHERE HAZARDOUS SURF MAY
BE OCCURRING. DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL UNTIL SEAS AND
SURF SUBSIDE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WILL SLOWLY DIMINISH TO BETWEEN 20
AND 30 MPH TONIGHT AND 15 TO 20 MPH THURSDAY.

HAZARDOUS SURF OF 12 TO 15 FEET WILL SLOWLY SUBSIDE THURSDAY AS NOUL
MOVES FARTHER TO THE NORTHWEST. MINOR INUNDATION OF AROUND 1 FOOT IS
POSSIBLE AROUND HIGH TIDE TONIGHT.
