HILDA WILL MOVE NORTHWEST SLOWLY TODAY...FOLLOWED BY A GRADUAL
TURN TOWARD THE WEST WITH AN INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED TONIGHT. IT
IS STILL EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN.

A HIGH SURF WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF THE
BIG ISLAND THROUGH 6 AM HST THURSDAY.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF MAUI
THROUGH 6 AM HST THURSDAY.

AT 11 AM HST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM HILDA WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 17.4N...LONGITUDE 152.0W...OR ABOUT 260 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF HILO OR ABOUT 470 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HONOLULU.
TROPICAL STORM HILDA IS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 3 MPH. MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 45 MPH.

TROPICAL STORM HILDA IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHWEST SLOWLY
TODAY...WITH GRADUAL WEAKENING. THE LATEST FORECAST STILL HAS THE
CENTER OF HILDA PASSING SOUTH OF THE BIG ISLAND TONIGHT INTO
FRIDAY. HEAVY RAIN IS STILL CONSIDERED TO BE THE BIGGEST IMPACT
FROM HILDA TO THE STATE.

ANTICIPATING 12 TO 18 FOOT SURF HEIGHTS GENERATED BY HILDA TODAY
AND TONIGHT FOR THE EAST FACING SHORES.

...INLAND FLOODING...
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE AREA FROM 6 PM
TONIGHT THROUGH 6 AM HST SATURDAY. ABUNDANT MOISTURE FROM
TROPICAL STORM HILDA IS EXPECTED TO MOVE OVER THE BIG ISLAND
DURING THIS TIME. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES WITH
LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO 18 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. HIGHEST AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED TO OCCUR ALONG THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST FACING SLOPES.
