THIS LOCAL STATEMENT OFFERS GUIDANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
MARINERS...AS WELL AS OTHER MARINE INTERESTS...ALONG ALL COASTAL
WATER LEGS OF GULF OF MEXICO WATERS AND ADJACENT COASTAL LAKES
AND BAYS.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE NO LONGER IN EFFECT
ANYWHERE ALONG THE SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA COASTAL WATERS.

A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR VERMILION...
IBERIA...AND ST MARY PARISHES THROUGH TONIGHT.

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

PLEASE CHECK THE LATEST PUBLIC AND MARINE FORECASTS FOR DETAILED
INFORMATION ABOUT ANY ADDITIONAL HAZARDS.

AT 3 PM CDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM KAREN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 28.1N...LONGITUDE 91.7W. THIS WAS ABOUT 150 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF CAMERON LA...OR ABOUT 100 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF
MORGAN CITY LA. STORM MOTION WAS N OR 360 DEGREES AT 2 MPH. STORM
INTENSITY WAS 40 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
DISORGANIZED TROPICAL STORM KAREN IS NEARLY STATIONARY THIS
AFTERNOON BUT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE TO THE NORTHEAST TONIGHT AND
THEN OFF TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AND INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED ON
SUNDAY. THEREFORE...TROPICAL STORM WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED OVER THE
COASTAL WATERS FROM ATCHAFALAYA RIVER TO INTRACOASTAL CITY AND OUT
60 MILES... AND WARNINGS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY
WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. HIGHER SWELLS
FROM KAREN WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE COASTAL WATERS.
