AT 4 PM CDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM KAREN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 25.9N...LONGITUDE 90.3W. THIS WAS ABOUT 250 MILES
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF MORGAN CITY LA. STORM MOTION WAS NNW OR
335 DEGREES AT 7 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 50 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
POORLY DISORGANIZED TROPICAL STORM KAREN WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
SLOWLY NORTHWARDS TONIGHT. SWELLS AS RESULT OF KAREN ARE STARTING
TO GET INTO THE COASTAL WATERS THIS AFTERNOON. THE ONSET OF
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WILL BE SLOWER THAN PREVIOUSLY
EXPECTED REACHING THE COASTAL WATERS LATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY
MORNING.

THE CHANCE FOR HURRICANE CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME IS VERY SMALL.
ALSO...THE CHANCE FOR TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME IS
UP TO 63 PERCENT. THIS REPRESENTS A GENERALUPWARD TREND SINCE THE
LAST FORECAST.

...WINDS AND SEAS...
AS TROPICAL STORM KAREN APPROACHES...SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN LATE SATURDAY MORNING. MAXIMUM
WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE IN THE 25 TO 35 KNOTS RANGE WITH GUSTS
TO 45 KNOTS.

SEAS TODAY ARE FORECAST ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE TO BETWEEN 5 AND
10 FEET BETWEEN 20 AND 60 NM AND INCREASE FURTHER TO BETWEEN 7 AND
17 FEET DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

FROM THE COAST TO 20 NM OFFSHORE...SEAS ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE 2
TO 5 FEET TONIGHT AND 2 TO 7 FEET ON SATURDAY.
