A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS NOW BEEN ISSUED.

THIS LOCAL STATEMENT PROVIDES IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND
RECOMMENDED ACTIONS FOR PEOPLE IN SELECT LOCATIONS WITHIN
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
LAWRENCE...JEFFERSON DAVIS...COVINGTON...JONES...MARION...LAMAR
AND FORREST.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE
POSSIBLE WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE SPECIFIED
AREAS.

ALL PERSONS IN THE WATCH AREAS SHOULD REVIEW THEIR PREPAREDNESS

AT 4 AM CDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 25.2N...LONGITUDE 84.2W. THIS WAS ABOUT 610 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF JACKSON MS. STORM MOTION WAS WNW OR 300 DEGREES AT
14 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 65 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS NOW BEEN ISSUED. TROPICAL STORM ISAAC IS
EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN WHILE MOVING ACROSS THE EASTERN GULF OF
MEXICO TODAY BEFORE APPROACHING THE NORTHERN GULF COAST AS A
HURRICANE TUESDAY. WHILE THE EXACT TRACK REMAINS UNCERTAIN...TROPICAL
STORM FORCE WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI LATE
TUESDAY. CONDITIONS WILL LIKELY DETERIORATE FURTHER TO THE NORTH AND
WEST WEDNESDAY. ISAAC IS CURRENTLY FORECAST TO MAKE LANDFALL AS A
HURRICANE NEAR THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER LATE TUESDAY OR
TUESDAY NIGHT. THE TIMING AND EXTENT OF THE HIGHER WIND SPEEDS WILL
BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE TRACK AND FORWARD SPEED OF ISAAC. WHEN
MAKING DECISIONS...DO NOT FOCUS ON THE EXACT FORECAST TRACK.

AS TROPICAL STORM ISAAC APPROACHES...SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN TUESDAY EVENING. TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS ARE FORECAST TO LAST FOR MANY HOURS. MAXIMUM WINDS ARE
FORECAST TO BE IN THE 40 TO 50 MPH RANGE WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

...INLAND FLOODING...
5 TO 10 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE AS ISAAC MOVES THROUGH THE
AREA. THIS WILL PRODUCE THE RISK OF INLAND FLOODING DUE TO THE
EXPECTED RAINFALL TOTALS.

...TORNADOES...
ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE AS ISAAC APPROACHES THE COAST
