.STORM INFORMATION...
AT 11 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 23.9N...LONGITUDE 80.8W. THIS WAS ABOUT 130 MILES
SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF MIAMI FL...OR ABOUT 170 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST
OF NAPLES FL. STORM MOTION WAS WNW OR 300 DEGREES AT 18 MPH.
STORM INTENSITY WAS 65 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
ALTHOUGH THE CENTER OF ISAAC WILL REMAIN SOUTH OF MAINLAND SOUTH
FLORIDA, IMPACTS WILL BE FELT FOR HUNDREDS OF MILES AWAY FROM THE
CENTER. MOST PORTIONS OF SOUTH FLORIDA WILL LIKELY EXPERIENCE
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WITH A REMOTE CHANCE OF HURRICANE FORCE
WINDS BEING FELT, ALTHOUGH NOT FORECAST AT THE PRESENT TIME,
ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHWEST FLORIDA COAST AND EXTREME FAR
SOUTH MIAMI-DADE MOSTLY IN THE FORM OF WIND GUSTS.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS MOSTLY IN RAIN BANDS ARE BEGINNING TO
IMPACT SOUTH FLORIDA ALONG THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST AND
SPREADING INLAND AND TO THE GULF COAST THIS AFTERNOON. TROPICAL
STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY MONDAY
ATLANTIC COAST AND THROUGH MONDAY MORNING GULF COAST, WITH CONDITIONS
IMPROVING FROM EAST TO WEST ACCORDINGLY.

THERE IS ALSO THE CONCERN FOR SIGNIFICANT FLOODING ACROSS
PORTIONS OF SOUTH FLORIDA TODAY THROUGH MONDAY. TOTAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE CURRENTLY FORECAST THROUGH MONDAY.
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR MUCH HIGHER AMOUNTS IF RAIN BANDS TRAIN
REPEATEDLY OVER THE SAME AREA AS ISAAC PASSES SOUTH OF THE AREA.
A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ALL OF SOUTH FLORIDA THROUGH
EARLY MONDAY EVENING.

ANOTHER MAIN CONCERN WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR QUICK DEVELOPING
TORNADOES, WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCED WARNING, IN RAIN BANDS WITH
THE THREAT INCREASING THIS AFTERNOON AND REMAINING THROUGH THE
NIGHT AND POTENTIALLY INTO MONDAY. A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR ALL OF MAINLAND SOUTH FLORIDA.

THERE STILL REMAINS A POTENTIAL FOR MAJOR COASTAL FLOODING ALONG
THE GULF COAST. LOW TO MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE ALONG
PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST.

SURF WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD TODAY...PEAKING TONIGHT...THEN
STEADILY SUBSIDING MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY ALONG THE ATLANTIC
BEACHES OF SOUTHEAST FLORIDA. ALONG THE GULF COAST...SURF WILL
QUICKLY BUILD TONIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING AND PEAK BY MONDAY
AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF SURF AND ONSHORE WINDS WILL RESULT
IN LIFE THREATENING RIP CURRENTS ALONG WITH MODERATE TO MAJOR
BEACH EROSION ALONG THE GULF AND ATLANTIC BEACHES.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DURING THE STORM...STAY INSIDE AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT
VENTURE OUTSIDE WHEN HIGH WINDS ARE OCCURRING OR DURING TEMPORARY
LULLS AS FLYING DEBRIS CAN EASILY... AND SUDDENLY...CAUSE SERIOUS
INJURY.

HAVE A WELL CHARGED CELL PHONE NEARBY...KEEPING NETWORK
COMMUNICATIONS AS OPEN AS POSSIBLE FOR EMERGENCIES.

CLOSELY MONITOR NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR OTHER LOCAL NEWS
OUTLETS FOR OFFICIAL STORM INFORMATION. LISTEN FOR POSSIBLE
CHANGES TO THE FORECAST.

FOR ANY SMALL CRAFT WHO FAILED TO MAKE IT TO SAFE HARBOR
OR PORT...AND ARE NOW IN DISTRESS...RADIO YOUR SITUATION
ACCORDING TO MARITIME PROTOCOL. IF APPROPRIATE...DEPLOY YOUR
EMERGENCY DISTRESS BEACON. ENSURE THAT EVERYONE IS WEARING
LIFE JACKETS...AND SURVIVAL SUITS IF AVAILABLE.

...WINDS...
AS TROPICAL STORM ISAAC APPROACHES...SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS ARE IMMINENT THIS AFTERNOON. MAXIMUM WINDS OF 40 TO 50 MPH WITH
GUSTS TO 75 MPH ARE EXPECTED MOSTLY IN AND AROUND RAIN BANDS. WINDS
ARE NOT FORECAST TO FALL BELOW TROPICAL STORM FORCE UNTIL LATE
MONDAY MORNING ALONG SOUTHWEST COAST AND EARLIER IN THE MORNING IN
FAR SOUTH MIAMI DADE.

THIS REPRESENTS A THREAT OF AT LEAST MINOR TO LOCALLY MODERATE
WIND DAMAGE. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGE TO UNANCHORED MOBILE
HOMES...PORCHES...CARPORTS...AND AWNINGS ALONG WITH SOME DAMAGE TO
SHINGLES AND SIDING...LARGE BRANCHES BROKEN OFF TREES WITH SEVERAL
SHALLOW- ROOTED AND DISEASED TREES BLOWN DOWN...AND UNSECURED
LIGHT-WEIGHT OBJECTS EASILY BLOWN ABOUT BECOMING DANGEROUS
PROJECTILES. DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL BE DANGEROUS ON BRIDGES AND
OTHER ELEVATED ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. A
FEW ROADS WILL BE IMPASSABLE DUE TO LARGE DEBRIS. THERE IS
POTENTIAL FOR AT LEAST SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES... ESPECIALLY IN
AREAS WITH ABOVE GROUND LINES.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...
AS TROPICAL STORM ISAAC APPROACHES THE COAST...THERE IS A CHANCE
FOR COMBINED STORM SURGE AND ASTRONOMICAL TIDE WATERS UP TO
7 FEET ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL WITHIN AREAS CLOSER TO THE COAST...
RESULTING IN WORST CASE FLOOD INUNDATION OF 4 TO 6 FEET ABOVE
GROUND LEVEL SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE SURGE ZONE.

THE LOCATIONS WITH THE GREATEST FLOODING POTENTIAL INCLUDE AREAS
ALONG THE IMMEDIATE GULF COAST SOUTH AND WEST OF TAMIAMI TRAIL IN
COLLIER COUNTY DOWN TO THE EVERGLADES CITY AREA. ON THE CURRENT
FORECAST TRACK...STORM SURGE IS LIKELY TO BE LOWER THAN THE
VALUES ABOVE. HOWEVER...ANY DEVIATION IN TRACK TO THE EAST AND OR
AN INCREASE IN STORM INTENSITY OR SIZE COULD RESULT IN AT LEAST
THIS SURGE POTENTIAL...IF NOT HIGHER. MAIN TIMING CONCERN FOR
SURGE ALONG THE GULF COAST WILL BE MONDAY...ESPECIALLY AT THE
HIGH TIDE CYCLE AROUND SUNRISE.

THIS REPRESENTS A THREAT OF MAJOR COASTAL FLOOD DAMAGE FROM SEA
WATER. IF REALIZED...EXPECT AREAS OF DEEP INUNDATION WITHIN THE
FLOOD ZONE. SEVERE BEACH EROSION. SEVERAL SECTIONS OF NEAR-SHORE
ROADS WASHED OUT AND/OR LOW-LYING ESCAPE ROUTES SEVERELY FLOODED.
A POWERFUL AND SCOURING STORM SURGE AND TIDE ACCENTUATED BY
BATTERING WIND WAVES BREACHING DUNES AND POSSIBLY SEAWALLS IN
SCATTERED LOCATIONS RESULTING IN STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO SHORELINE
BUILDINGS...WITH A FEW WASHING INTO THE SEA. DAMAGE COMPOUNDED BY
FLOATING DEBRIS. MODERATE TO MAJOR DAMAGE TO MARINAS...DOCKS...AND
PIERS. MANY SMALL CRAFT BROKEN AWAY FROM MOORINGS...ESPECIALLY IN
UNPROTECTED ANCHORAGES...LIFTED ONSHORE AND STRANDED.

...WINDS...
AS TROPICAL STORM ISAAC PASSES BY THE AREA...SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS MOSTLY IN RAIN BANDS ARE OCCURRING ACROSS THE AREA.
MAXIMUM WINDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH ARE EXPECTED.
THE THREAT OF SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS IS FORECAST TO
END BY EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

THERE IS NO LONGER A THREAT OF SUSTAINED HURRICANE FORCE WINDS AND
THEREFORE THE HURRICANE WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELED. HOWEVER, WIND
GUSTS CLOSE TO HURRICANE FORCE WITH ONE OR TWO RAIN BANDS IS STILL
A POSSIBILITY.

THIS REPRESENTS A THREAT OF AT LEAST MINOR TO LOCALLY MODERATE
WIND DAMAGE. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGE TO PORCHES...CARPORTS...AND
AWNINGS ALONG WITH SOME DAMAGE TO SHINGLES AND SIDING...LARGE
BRANCHES BROKEN OFF TREES WITH SEVERAL SHALLOW-ROOTED AND DISEASED

AS TROPICAL STORM ISAAC PASSES BY THE AREA...THERE IS A CHANCE FOR
COMBINED STORM SURGE AND ASTRONOMICAL TIDE WATERS 2 TO 3 FEET
ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL WITHIN AREAS CLOSER TO THE COAST...RESULTING
IN WORST CASE FLOOD INUNDATION UP TO 1 TO 3 FEET ABOVE GROUND
LEVEL SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE SURGE ZONE.

THE LOCATIONS MOST LIKELY TO REALIZE THE GREATEST FLOODING
INCLUDE AREAS ALONG BISCAYNE BAY FROM MIAMI BEACH SOUTH TO SOUTH
MIAMI DADE.

PREPARATIONS SHOULD BE MADE FOR THE THREAT OF MINOR TO LOCALLY
MODERATE COASTAL FLOOD DAMAGE FROM SEA WATER. IF REALIZED...
EXPECT PARTIAL INUNDATION WITHIN THE FLOOD ZONE...ESPECIALLY FOR
LOW-LYING AREAS. VERY HEAVY SURF ALONG WITH PERSISTENT ONSHORE
WINDS WILL MOST LIKELY LEAD TO MODERATE TO MAJOR BEACH EROSION.
