SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF PORTSMOUTH NH. STORM MOTION WAS NNE OR
20 DEGREES AT 16 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 80 MPH.

RAIN SHOWERS HAVE DEVELOPED...FUELED BY IRENES TROPICAL
MOISTURE...ALONG A STATIONARY BOUNDARY SITUATED EAST WEST ACROSS
NEW HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE. THESE SHOWERS COULD PRODUCE VERY HEAVY
RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. OTHERWISE A STEADIER RAINFALL
IS MOVING INTO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE THIS EVENING...AND WILL
OVERSPREAD THE NEW HAMPSHIRE AND WESTERN MAINE TONIGHT...WITH
HEAVIER RAIN MOVING IN LATE TONIGHT. THE HEAVIEST RAIN IS EXPECTED
DURING THE DAY ON SUNDAY...WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS SUNDAY

INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE...WITH 2 TO 5 INCHES
POSSIBLE IN MAINE. THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN WOULD CAUSE THE MOST
SIGNIFICANT FLOODING PROBLEMS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE...ESPECIALLY ON

ACCORDING TO THE LATEST SURGE FORECAST, A 1 TO 1.5 FOOT SURGE MAY
OCCUR AT THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS COMBINED WITH
HIGH WAVE ACTION IS LIKELY TO CAUSE BEACH EROSION AND SPLASH OVER.
MINOR COASTAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.

AFTERNOON. MAXIMUM WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE IN THE 35 TO 45 KNOTS
RANGE WITH GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. SEAS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 FEET
IN THE OPEN WATERS BY LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON...AND 10 TO 15 FEET IN
THE BAYS. THE SEAS WILL START TO DIMINISH MONDAY MORNING.
