A HURRICANE WATCH CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...ALL OF
MAINLAND PUERTO RICO...CULEBRA...VIEQUES...ST. THOMAS/ST.
JOHN/ADJACENT ISLANDS AND ST CROIX.

FOR MARINE INTERESTS...A HURRICANE WATCH CONTINUES FOR ALL OF
PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS COASTAL WATERS.

.STORM INFORMATION...
AT 5 AM AST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM EARL WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 16.9N...LONGITUDE 56.9W. THIS WAS ABOUT 600 MILES EAST OF
SAN JUAN PR...OR ABOUT 550 MILES EAST OF SAINT THOMAS VI. EARL IS
MOVING TOWARDS THE WEST NEAR 18 MPH...WITH A TURN TOWARDS THE
WEST-NORTHWEST ALONG WITH A DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED EXPECTED IN
THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST OVER THE NEXT 48 HOURS
...AND EARL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME A HURRICANE LATER TODAY.

AT THIS TIME...TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO
160 MILES FROM THE CENTER.

TROPICAL STORM EARL CONTINUES TO TRACK RAPIDLY WESTWARD. BASED ON
THE LATEST FORECAST TRACK...THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT POSSIBILITY FOR
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS AND POSSIBLE HURRICANE CONDITIONS
ACROSS THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS...VIEQUES AND CULEBRA...AND
PORTIONS OF MAINLAND PUERTO RICO BEGINNING MONDAY AFTERNOON.
ALTHOUGH THE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MAKE A GRADUAL TURN TO THE WEST
NORTHWEST LATER TODAY OR MONDAY...ANY DELAY IN THIS EXPECTED TURN
COULD MEAN MORE SIGNIFICANT LOCAL IMPACTS. HEAVY RAINS AND STRONG

ADDITION...EAST SWELLS WILL BEGIN TO AFFECT THE ATLANTIC OFF
SHORE COASTAL WATERS MONDAY MORNING AND WILL BUILD SIGNIFICANTLY
BY MONDAY NIGHT. COMBINED SEAS ACROSS THESE WATERS AND THE
ANEGADA PASSAGE ARE EXPECTED TO REACH 8 TO 12 FEET OR GREATER...
WITH SEAS SLIGHTLY LESS ACROSS THE ADJACENT NEAR SHORE WATERS.
