AT 5 PM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM FAY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 24.6 NORTH...LONGITUDE 81.9 WEST OR NEAR KEY WEST
FLORIDA...AND ABOUT 145 MILES SOUTHWEST OF FORT MEYERS FLORIDA.
THIS WAS ALSO ABOUT 330 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF THE SUWANNEE RIVER
ENTRANCE. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS REMAIN NEAR 60 MPH. THE MINIMUM
CENTRAL PRESSURE REPORTED BY THE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT WAS
998 MB. FAY CONTINUES TO MOVE TO THE NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 12 MPH.
A TURN TO THE NORTH IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

...AREAS AFFECTED...

THIS STATEMENT RECOMMENDS ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY RESIDENTS IN THE
FLORIDA BIG BEND AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AS WELL AS RESIDENTS
IN PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA.

...WATCHES/WARNINGS...

THERE ARE NO WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT AT THIS TIME...AND
NONE ARE EXPECTED AS FAY WILL REMAIN TO THE EAST AND NOT DIRECTLY
AFFECT THE AREA.

...WINDS...

BASED ON THE OFFICIAL FORECAST...THE CHANCES FOR TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS ARE LOW. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 35 MPH MAY BE POSSIBLE OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN FLORIDA BIG
BEND...WITH BREEZY CONDITIONS FOR SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA AND THE
REMAINDER OF THE FLORIDA BIG BEND BEGINNING LATE TUESDAY NIGHT
AND LASTING INTO WEDNESDAY.

...INLAND FLOODING...

STORM RAINFALL TOTALS OF TWO TO THREE INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE EASTERN FLORIDA BIG BEND AND
SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA FROM TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. AMOUNTS
GENERALLY LESS THAN AN INCH ARE EXPECTED FURTHER TO THE NORTH AND
WEST. BASED ON THE CURRENT TRACK OF FAY...WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS
NOT ANTICIPATED.
