FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE
KATRINA...LOCATED INLAND ABOUT 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF LAUREL
MISSISSIPPI.

A BROAD AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL
DEPRESSION THIRTEEN...ARE CENTERED SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES NORTHEAST
OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS.  UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR
REDEVELOPMENT.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS LOCATED ABOUT 750 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.  THIS SYSTEM CONTINUES TO SHOW SIGNS OF
ORGANIZATION AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT MOVES TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
TUESDAY.
