FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON STRONG
CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE KATRINA...LOCATED ABOUT 90 MILES
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF NEW ORLEANS LOUISIANA...AND ON TROPICAL
DEPRESSION THIRTEEN...LOCATED ABOUT 795 MILES EAST OF THE
LESSER ANTILLES.

A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE...ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE...IS
SLOWLY GETTING BETTER ORGANIZED ABOUT 275 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.  THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP
INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

AN ILL-DEFINED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS LOCATED ABOUT 650 MILES
NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS. SHOWER ACTIVITY
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM REMAINS POORLY ORGANIZED...AND
UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION.

ELSEWHERE... TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
TUESDAY.
