...STORM INFORMATION...
WHILE JEANNE HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO A TROPICAL STORM...RAINBANDS
CONTAINING POSSIBLY DAMAGING WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN HAVE NOW OVERSPREAD
MUCH OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA AND WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHEAST GEORGIA
LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

AT 2 PM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM JEANNE WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 28.3 NORTH... LONGITUDE 82.2 WEST OR ABOUT 30
MILES SOUTH OF OCALA FLORIDA.

JEANNE IS NOW MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH. A GRADUAL
TURN TO THE NORTH IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON THIS
TRACK THE CENTER OF JEANNE WILL BE MOVING OVER NORTHERN FLORIDA
TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 70 MPH...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. CONTINUED WEAKENING IS FORECAST OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
PERSONS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD HEED THE ADVICE OF EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS. MARINE INTERESTS...AND RESIDENTS ALONG RIVERS
AND IN NORMALLY FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD SECURE PROPERTY WHICH COULD
FLOOD.

IF YOU LOSE POWER...REMEMBER THAT GENERATORS SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN
WELL VENTILATED AREAS...DO NOT RUN GENERATORS IN GARAGES OR SHEDS.
NEVER USE CANDLES OR ANY OPEN FLAME FOR LIGHTING DUE TO THE RISK OF
FIRE.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
TIDES AROUND 2 TO 3 FEET ABOVE THE HEIGHT OF NORMAL TIDES WILL
CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT. THE COMBINATION OF ALREADY HIGH WATER
LEVELS...HIGH TIDES AND POSSIBLE HEAVY RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN
FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS ALONG THE COAST BUT ALSO ALONG THE
ST. JOHNS RIVER AND OTHER COASTAL WATERWAYS. THE MOST LIKELY TIME FOR
SUCH CONDITIONS WILL BE AROUND THE TIME OF THE NEXT HIGH TIDE THIS
EVENING.

...WIND IMPACTS...
FLAGLER AND ST. JOHNS COUNTIES ARE REPORTING OCCASIONAL SUSTAINED
WINDS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH WITH GUSTS MAINLY BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MPH.
THESE CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING. DUVAL AND NASSAU
COUNTIES ARE EXPERIENCING OCCASIONAL SUSTAINED WINDS NEAR 30 AND WITH
GUSTS NEAR 40 MPH. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE TO BETWEEN 40 AND 50
MPH AT TIMES WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO 60 MPH THIS AFTERNOON AND
CONTINUE TONIGHT.

CAMDEN AND GLYNN COUNTIES...
WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 35 TO 45 MPH WITH OCCASIONALLY HIGHER
GUSTS LATER TODAY AS RAINBANDS BEGIN TO SPREAD NORTHWARD.

FOR MARION...PUTNAM...ALACHUA...CLAY...UNION...BRADFORD AND
GILCHRIST COUNTIES...SQUALL BANDS WILL CONTINUE MOVING THROUGH THE
AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL OCCASIONALLY BE
AS HIGH AS 50 TO 60 MPH WITH POSSIBLE HIGHER GUSTS AS STRONGER BANDS
CONTINUE MOVING THROUGH THE AREA.

FOR BAKER...COLUMBIA...SUWANNEE AND HAMILTON COUNTIES...WINDS WILL
GRADUALLY INCREASE TO TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH THIS AFTERNOON AS
STRONGER RAIN BANDS MOVE NORTHWARD. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO
40 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

INLAND SOUTHEAST GEORGIA...
SUSTAINED WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 35 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 55 MPH LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT AS SQUALL BANDS SPREAD
ACROSS THE AREA.

...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY. SMALL
CRAFT SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT. HIGH SURF AND BEACH EROSION WILL
CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT WITH SOME IMPROVEMENT LIKELY BEGINNING MONDAY.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
BASED ON THE CURRENT TRACK...JEANNE WILL BRING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE LIKELY IN
THE COASTAL AREAS...WITH 5 TO 8 INCHES POSSIBLE ALONG AND TO THE
RIGHT OF THE STORM TRACK. THESE RAINS WILL POSE A RENEWED OR
CONTINUED THREAT OF FLOODING ON AREA RIVERS.

...TORNADO IMPACTS...
A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT FOR ALL ON NORTH
FLORIDA AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA. MOST OF THE AREA WILL
CONTINUE TO BE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE STORM'S CIRCULATION...
WHICH IS A FAVORED LOCATION FOR TORNADO DEVELOPMENT. REMEMBER THAT
TORNADOES...ESPECIALLY THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL CYCLONES...CAN
AND OFTEN DO DEVELOP WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING.

...NEXT UPDATE...
