AN INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF INLAND
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.

A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.

A RIVER FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SAVANNAH RIVER

AT 5 AM EDT...HURRICANE JEANNE WAS LOCATED AT 27.4 NORTH...81.1
WEST...OR ABOUT 260 MILES SOUTH OF SAVANNAH GEORGIA. THE HURRICANE IS
MOVING WEST AT 13 MPH AND TURN TO THE NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED LATER
TODAY. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 110 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
WEAKENING IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR TODAY.

RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA SHOULD PREPARE NOW FOR MINIMAL
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS. TIE DOWN OUTDOOR LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS
GRILLS...PATIO FURNITURE AND TRASH CANS. POWER OUTAGES ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE TONIGHT AND MONDAY. IF YOU PLAN ON USING A PORTABLE
GENERATOR...CHECK IT NOW FOR PROPER VENTILATION. CARBON MONOXIDE
POISONING DEATHS CAN OCCUR DUE TO IMPROPERLY VENTILATED GENERATORS.

PULASKI DURING TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT THE
SAVANNAH RIVER ENTRANCE AT 649 AM TODAY AND 727 PM THIS EVENING.

WINDS ALONG COASTAL GEORGIA THIS MORNING ARE BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH
WITH A FEW HIGHER GUSTS. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY INCREASE
TODAY AND ESPECIALLY TONIGHT AND ON MONDAY AS JEANNE DRAWS CLOSER.
WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED TODAY
ALONG THE COAST WITH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH
FARTHER INLAND. TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS...BETWEEN 30 AND 40
MPH...ARE EXPECTED AT THE COAST TONIGHT.

...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE ACROSS THE GEORGIA COASTAL WATERS
THROUGH MONDAY. LARGE BREAKERS OF 5 TO 8 FEET CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG
THE BEACHES TODAY WHICH WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SURF CONDITIONS AND
A HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS. SWIMMERS AND SURFERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO
REMAIN OUT OF THE WATER.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
THE OUTER BANDS OF JEANNE WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN GEORGIA
TODAY. THE HEAVIEST RAINS WILL OCCUR LATER TONIGHT AND ON MONDAY AS
JEANNE APPROACHES. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED
THROUGH MONDAY. THIS MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF FLOODING SO A FLOOD WATCH
HAS BEEN ISSUED.

THE RISK FOR TORNADOES WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE THROUGH MONDAY.
TORNADO WATCHES MAY BE ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA BY
