MARSH HARBOR ON THE ABACO ISLAND OR ABOUT 75 MILES... 120 KM...
EAST OF FREEPORT GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND. THIS POSITION IS ALSO ABOUT
155 MILES...250 KM...EAST OF THE SOUTHEASTERN COAST OF FLORIDA.

JEANNE IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 14 MPH...22 KM/HR. ON THIS
TRACK...THE CORE OF JEANNE WILL CONTINUE NEAR OR OVER THE REMAINDER
OF THE NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS TODAY...AND APPROACH THE SOUTHEASTERN
COAST OF FLORIDA TONIGHT OR EARLY SUNDAY. HURRICANE FORCE WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO SPREAD INLAND ACROSS MUCH OF THE FLORIDA PENINSULA.

JEANNE HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS CATEGORY THREE HURRICANE ON THE
SAFFIR/SIMPSON HURRICANE SCALE WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF 115
MPH...185 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.REMEMBER A HURRICANE WARNING
MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED IN SOME PORTION OF THE
WARNING AREA. ALL EXPECTED IMPACTS ARE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE
ULTIMATE TRACK AND INTENSITY OF JEANNE.

PERSONS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD PUT YOUR FAMILYS HURRICANE
PLAN INTO EFFECT AND HEED THE ADVICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

BE POSSIBLE WITH VALUES UP TO 3 TO 5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL POSSIBLE ON
SUNDAY. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT DUE TO PERSISTENT ONSHORE WINDS...
TIDE LEVELS ON THE ST. JOHNS RIVER ARE ALREADY ABOVE NORMAL. COMBINED
WITH ALREADY HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES...FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE
ALONG THE ST. JOHNS RIVER.

SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 30 MPH THIS AFTERNOON WITH

OF HURRICANE JEANNE...WINDS WILL INCREASE TO STRONG TROPICAL STORM
WITH POSSIBLE HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EARLY ON SUNDAY FOR ST JOHNS...
FLAGLER...PUTNAM AND MARION COUNTIES...WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS
OCCURRING SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

FARTHER INLAND...WINDS WILL APPROACH TROPICAL STORM FORCE AFTER
MIDNIGHT TONIGHT IN PUTNAM...ST. JOHNS...FLAGLER AND MARION COUNTIES
AND MAY APPROACH HURRICANE FORCE BY MORNING. TROPICAL STORM WINDS
WILL SPREAD NORTHWARD ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA
DURING THE DAY SUNDAY AND INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. WINDS MAY APPROACH
TROPICAL STORM FORCE LATE SUNDAY OR SUNDAY NIGHT IN PORTIONS OF

A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND. SMALL
CRAFT SHOULD STAY IN PORT. HIGH SURF WILL CONTINUE IN THE 6 TO 8 FOOT
RANGE TODAY AND GRADUALLY INCREASE THROUGH SUNDAY. HEAVY SURF AND
BEACH EROSION WILL CONTINUE TO WORSEN TONIGHT AND SUNDAY.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
HURRICANE JEANNE WILL POSE A THREAT OF HEAVY RAINFALL AS IT MOVES
NORTHWEST THROUGH THE FORECAST AREA SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT. AREAS
ALONG THE PATH COULD SEE RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES. SUCH
RAINS WOULD POSE A RENEWED THREAT OF FLOODING ON AREA RIVERS.
