THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCHES FOR
MARYLAND...WEST VIRGINIA...VIRGINIA...AND NORTH CAROLINA.

THE 5 PM EDT...21Z...POSITION OF THE SURFACE LOW FOR IVAN IS 36.5
NORTH LATITUDE AND 81.5 WEST LONGITUDE... OR APPROXIMATELY 100
MILES SOUTHWEST OF ROANOKE...VIRGINIA. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE
NEAR 20 MPH WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS.  MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS
999 MB OR 29.50 INCHES. OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS...IVAN HAS BEEN
MOVING IN AN EAST-NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH.
