...TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN IS CONTINUING TO GENERATE HEAVY
RAINFALL...

FLOOD WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT OVER A BROAD AREA THAT INCLUDES THE
ENTIRE APPALACHIAN CHAIN AND POINTS NORTH AND EAST.

THE WATCHES COVER NORTHERN ALABAMA...EXTREME NORTHEASTERN
GEORGIA...EASTERN TENNESSEE...EASTERN KENTUCKY AND OHIO...MOST OF
SOUTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...VIRGINIA...WEST
VIRGINIA...MUCH OF MARYLAND AND NEW
JERSEY...DELAWARE...PENNSYLVANIA...AND SOUTHERN NEW YORK.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN OHIO
AND NORTHEASTERN KENTUCKY.

THE 11 AM EDT...15Z...POSITION OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN IS
LATITUDE 35.8 NORTH AND LONGITUDE 83.1 WEST...ABOUT 45 MILES EAST
OF KNOXVILLE...TENNESSEE. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 20 MPH
WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS.  MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 998 MB OR
29.47 INCHES. OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS...IVAN HAS BEEN MOVING IN AN
EAST-NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 18 MPH. THIS GENERAL
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.
