...OUTER FRINGES OF POWERFUL HURRICANE IVAN AFFECTING LEVY COUNTY...

...THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE LOCATION IN
WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA :

  LEVY COUNTY

INCLUDING...
THE COASTAL WATERS FROM FROM YANKEETOWN TO SUWANNEE RIVER OUT 60 NM.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 1 AM EDT...0500Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 29.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE 87.9 WEST OR ABOUT 290 MILES WEST OF
CEDAR KEY. IVAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 12 MPH AND THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE UNTIL LANDFALL.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
WATER LEVELS ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING 2 TO 3 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDES
ALONG THE LEVY COUNTY COAST.

MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS MAY OCCUR DURING THE TIMES
OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT 314 AM THIS MORNING AND 339 PM
THIS AFTERNOON.

...WIND IMPACTS...
SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH ARE OCCURRING ALONG
THE LEVY COUNTY COAST. WINDS TO 40 MPH ARE OCCURRING OVER THE
ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS. THESE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.

NEWLY PLANTED TREES AND SHRUBS MAY BE UPROOTED IF NOT SECURED
PROPERLY. RESIDENTS
SHOULD MOVE UNFASTENED ITEMS...SUCH AS GARBAGE CANS AND DECK
FURNITURE INDOORS.

...RAINFALL AND FLOOD INFORMATION...
A HEAVY BAND OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS REMAINS ABOUT 75
MILES WEST OF THE LEVY COUNTY COASTLINE. THIS BAND IS EXPECTED TO
APPROACH THE COAST BY SUNRISE. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
IS EXPECTED BY FRIDAY MORNING.

THE NEXT HURRICANE LOCAL STATEMENT FROM THE TAMPA BAY AREA FORECAST
OFFICE WILL BE ISSUED AROUND 300 AM.
