AT 4 PM CDT...IVAN WAS LOCATED AT 28.4 NORTH...88.3 WEST...WHICH IS
317 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF CAMERON...250 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF
INTRACOASTAL CITY...OR 196 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MORGAN CITY.

HURRICANE IVAN WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AT 14 MPH...AND THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON THIS
FORECAST TRACK...THE CENTER OF IVAN IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE
MISSISSIPPI AND ALABAMA COAST DURING THE VERY EARLY MORNING HOURS ON
THURSDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE 135 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

RESIDENTS NEAR THE COAST SHOULD BE ALERT TO MINOR COASTAL FLOODING

OVERALL TIDAL READINGS WILL FLUCTUATE BETWEEN 4 AND 5 FEET THROUGH
THE EVENING HOURS. THE NEXT HIGH TIDE IN VERMILION BAY WILL BE AT 456
PM TODAY WITH A LOW TIDE EXPECTED AT 1055 PM TONIGHT...WITH ANOTHER
HIGH TIDE AT 516 AM THURSDAY MORNING.

TORNADOES ARE NOT EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL
LOUISIANA.

EXPECT ONLY ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN CENTRAL LOUISIANA
TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. RAIN TOTALS WILL BE LESS THAN A QUARTER
OF AN INCH.

NORTH WINDS 15 MPH AND GUSTY CAN BE EXPECTED IN SOUTH CENTRAL
LOUISIANA TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. OVER THE COASTAL WATERS WEST
OF CAMERON...EXPECT NORTH WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS...AND FROM CAMERON
THROUGH THE LOWER ATCHAFALAYA RIVER WINDS WILL BE NORTH AT 20 TO 25
KNOTS AND GUSTY FOR THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING.
