A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR LEVY COUNTY...
INCLUDING THE COASTAL WATERS FROM YANKEETOWN TO SUWANNEE RIVER OUT
60 NM.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 2 PM EDT...1800Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 27.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 88.2 WEST OR ABOUT 345 MILES WEST
SOUTHWEST OF CEDAR KEY. IVAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 14 MPH
AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
WATER LEVELS OF 2 TO 4 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDES ARE EXPECTED ALONG
THE LEVY COUNTY COAST BEGINNING THIS EVENING AND COULD INCREASE
TO 3 TO 5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDES LATE TONIGHT NIGHT INTO THURSDAY.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING OF LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS MAY OCCUR...
ESPECIALLY DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT
259 PM THIS AFTERNOON...314 AM THURSDAY MORNING AND 339 PM THURSDAY
AFTERNOON.

...WIND IMPACTS...
SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 25 MPH WERE BEING
OBSERVED OVER LEVY COUNTY AND ADJACENT GULF WATERS EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON. THE STRONGEST WINDS FOR LEVY COUNTY ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR
WITHIN THE BANDS OF HEAVY RAIN AS HURRICANE IVAN MOVES NORTHWARD
THROUGH TONIGHT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50
MPH WILL BEGIN TO IMPACT COASTAL SECTIONS OF LEVY COUNTY BY EARLY
TONIGHT CONTINUING INTO EARLY THURSDAY.

MINOR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR IN OLDER MOBILE HOME PARKS. NEWLY PLANTED
TREES AND SHRUBS MAY BE UPROOTED IF NOT SECURED PROPERLY. RESIDENTS
SHOULD MOVE UNFASTENED ITEMS...SUCH AS GARBAGE CANS AND DECK
FURNITURE INDOORS.

...RAINFALL AND FLOOD INFORMATION...
BANDS OF HEAVY RAINS WILL BEGIN TO AFFECT LEVY COUNTY BY LATER THIS
AFTERNOON...WITH AREAL COVERAGE AND INTENSITY INCREASING TONIGHT INTO
THURSDAY...WITH STORM TOTAL RAINFALL EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 1 TO 3
INCH RANGE...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THESE RAINFALL
AMOUNTS WILL CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING IN LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS. RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS OR ALONG AREA
STREAMS...CREEKS...AND RIVERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SOME FLOODING
AND SHOULD TAKE ACTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.

THE NEXT HURRICANE LOCAL STATEMENT FROM THE TAMPA BAY AREA FORECAST
OFFICE WILL BE ISSUED AROUND 530 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON.
