LAFAYETTE...AND SAINT MARTIN PARISHES.

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR VERMILION...IBERIA...AND
SAINT MARY PARISHES.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 10 PM CDT...IVAN WAS LOCATED AT 25.1 N 87.2 W. WHICH IS 494 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF CAMERON...440 MILES SOUTHEAST OF INTRACOASTAL CITY...OR
408 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MORGAN CITY.

HURRICANE IVAN WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NORTHWEST AT 12 MPH. A
GRADUAL TURN TO THE NORTH IS EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE 140 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RESIDENTS NEAR THE COAST SHOULD BE ALERT TO MINOR COASTAL
FLOODING...ESPECIALLY DURING PERIODS OF HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
STORM SURGE VALUES WILL RUN AROUND 2 FEET OVERNIGHT. THIS MEANS
OVERALL TIDAL READINGS WILL FLUCTUATE BETWEEN 4 AND 5 FEET
THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THE NEXT HIGH TIDE IN VERMILION
BAY WILL BE AT 507 AM WEDNESDAY.

...TORNADO IMPACTS...
TORNADOES ARE NOT EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL
LOUISIANA.

...RAINFALL IMPACTS...
THERE IS ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS OVERNIGHT. RAIN TOTALS WILL
BE LESS THAN A QUARTER OF AN INCH.

...WIND IMPACTS...
NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 MPH AND GUSTY. OVER THE COASTAL
WATERS...NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS WEST OF VERMILION BAY. AND
NORTHEAST WINDS 25 TO 30 KNOTS EAST OF VERMILION BAY TO THE LOWER
ATCHAFALAYA RIVER.
