GEORGIA...FLOODING AND TORNADOES REMAIN A THREAT FOR MUCH OF THE
SOUTHEAST...SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL APPALACHIANS...AND MID ATLANTIC
STATES.

FLOOD WARNINGS ARE CURRENTLY UP FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH
CAROLINA...SOUTH CAROLINA...GEORGIA...AND FLORIDA.  FLASH FLOOD
WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST...MID
ATLANTIC STATES...AND PORTIONS OF THE OHIO VALLEY FROM
FLORIDA...NORTHWARD INTO GEORGIA...ALABAMA...TENNESSEE...NORTH
CAROLINA...SOUTH CAROLINA...WEST VIRGINIA...KENTUCKY...OHIO
...PENNSYLVANIA...MARYLAND... AND VIRGINIA THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.
THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH
ENCOMPASSING SOUTH CAROLINA...PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN NORTH
CAROLINA...AND EASTERN GEORGIA UNTIL 7 PM EDT.

AT 5 PM EDT...21Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION FRANCES WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 33.0 NORTH LONGITUDE 84.6 WEST OR 45 MILES
TO THE SOUTH OF ATLANTA GEORGIA. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR
15 MPH WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 997 MB
OR 29.44 INCHES.  FRANCES HAS BEEN MOVING NORTH-NORTHEAST AT
ABOUT 5 MPH. FRANCES IS FORECAST TO MOVE IN A NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD
DIRECTION TONIGHT OVER GEORGIA AND THEN INTO THE SOUTHERN
APPALACHIANS ON WEDNESDAY. THE STORM IS THEN EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
TO MOVE NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND BE OVER THE NORTHERN MID ATLANTIC STATES
THURSDAY.
