MARIANA ISLANDS.

A TYPHOON WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR GUAM...ROTA...TINIAN...
SAIPAN AND AGRIHAN.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 5 AM GUAM LST..19Z..THE CENTER OF TYPHOON CHABA WAS LOCATED BY
RADAR NEAR LATITUDE 15.1 DEGREES NORTH AND LONGITUDE 144.5 DEGREES
EAST. THIS IS ABOUT 115 MILES NORTH OF GUAM
                     85 MILES NORTHWEST OF ROTA
                     75 MILES WEST OF TINIAN
                     80 MILES WEST OF SAIPAN
                    200 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF ALAMAGAN
                    225 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF PAGAN
                    270 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF AGRIHAN.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE 145 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 175 MPH. TYPHOON
CHABA IS MOVING WEST-NORTHWEST AT 16 MPH.

GUAM IS IN CONDITION OF READINESS 1. STAY IN SAFE SHELTER UNTIL THE
DANGEROUS CONDITIONS SUBSIDE.

DAMAGING SOUTHWEST WINDS AT 50 TO 60 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 70 MPH WILL
SUBSIDE TO 30 TO 45 MPH DURING THE MORNING. PEAK WIND AT THE GUAM
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AT 4 AM WAS 66 MPH.

HAZARDOUS SURF 17 TO 19 FEET IS EXPECTED. SEVERE RIP CURRENTS WILL

TYPHOON-FORCE WINDS 80 TO 100 MPH WILL SUBSIDE TO 50 TO 60 MPH WITH
GUSTS TO 70 MPH DURING THE MORNING. A PEAK WIND OF 108 MPH WAS
REPORTED BY THE AUTOMATED WEATHER STATION AT ROTA AIRPORT AT 4 AM.
TINIAN AND SAIPAN WILL HAVE TYPHOON-FORCE WINDS AT 70 TO 80 MPH WITH
GUSTS TO 90 MPH...SUBSIDING TO 40 TO 50 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH
AFTER SUNRISE.
