AN INLAND HURRICANE WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR CLAY...
MARION AND PUTNAM COUNTIES.

THE INLAND HURRICANE WIND WARNING FOR ALACHUA AND BRADFORD COUNTIES
HAS BEEN CHANGED TO AN INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING.

AN INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA...BRANTLEY...INLAND CAMDEN...
CHARLTON AND INLAND GLYNN.

THE INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTH FLORIDA...BAKER...COLUMBIA...GILCHRIST
AND UNION.

THE INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA...PIERCE...WARE AND WAYNE.

A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALACHUA...MARION...PUTNAM...ST
JOHNS AND FLAGLER COUNTIES UNTIL 2 AM SATURDAY MORNING.

A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF NORTH FLORIDA AND SOUTHEAST
GEORGIA THROUGH SATURDAY.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 7 PM EDT...2300Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE CHARLEY WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 27.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE  81.8 WEST OR JUST SOUTH OF
FORT MEADE FLORIDA.  THIS POSITION IS ALSO ABOUT 65 MILES
SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF ORLANDO.

CHARLEY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 25 MPH AND A
GRADUAL INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED TONIGHT AND SATURDAY.
THE CENTER OF THE HURRICANE WILL LIKELY PASS NEAR ORLANDO DURING THE
NEXT FEW HOURS...AND IT SHOULD MOVE ACROSS PORTIONS OF FLAGLER AND
ST JOHNS COUNTIES AND THEN INTO THE ATLANTIC LATER TONIGHT.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 115 MPH WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  FURTHER WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
HOWEVER HURRICANE FORCE WINDS ARE SPREADING ACROSS FLORIDA NEAR THE
PATH OF THE CENTER OF THE HURRICANE.

ERRORS IN THE FORECAST TRACK AT 12 HOURS ARE NEAR 50 MILES. INTERESTS
IN THE REGION...INCLUDING INLAND AREAS...SHOULD CONTINUE TO CLOSELY
MONITOR THE CURRENT PROGRESS OF HURRICANE CHARLEY AS WELL AS THE MOST
CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO FOLLOW THE ADVICE OF THEIR LOCAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY.  EXTENDED POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOME
PORTION OF THE AREA THIS OVERNIGHT. INTERESTS IN THE NORTH FLORIDA
AND SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AREA SHOULD HAVE FLASHLIGHTS...BATTERIES AND A
BATTERY OPERATED RADIO IN CASE OF POWER OUTAGES. NEVER USE CANDLES
DUE TO THE HIGH RISK OF FIRE.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
CHARLEY IS NOW EXPECTED TO MOVE OFF THE FLORIDA EAST COAST WITH
A LONGER PERIOD OF ONSHORE WINDS. GENERAL STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 2
TO 4 FEET IS EXPECTED. INTERESTS WHO NORMALLY EXPERIENCE FLOODING
DURING STRONG NORTHEASTERS SHOULD SECURE PROPERTY AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE.

...WIND IMPACTS...
MARION COUNTY WINDS....WINDS OVER THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE
COUNTY ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE BETWEEN 9 PM AND MIDNIGHT AND SHOULD
REACH 30 TO 50 MPH BETWEEN 10 PM AND 2 AM. WINDS MAY BRIEFLY GUST TO
HURRICANE FORCE OVER EXTREME EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY. A
GRADUAL DECREASE IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 4 AM. IF THE STORM
CONTINUES ON A MORE EASTWARD TRACK A REVISION OF THE FORECAST
WINDFIELD MAY BE REQUIRED AND WIND WARNINGS FOR MARION COUNTY MAY BE
DISCONTINUED LATER TONIGHT.

CLAY AND PUTNAM COUNTIES....WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AFTER
SUNSET AND MAY REACH 40 TO 60 MPH BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 4 AM.
WINDS MAY GUST TO HURRICANE FORCE...THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE OVER
EASTERN PORTIONS OF CLAY AND PUTNAM COUNTIES. A GRADUAL DECREASE IN
THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 4 AM. IF THE STORM CONTINUES ON A MORE
EASTWARD TRACK A REVISION OF THE FORECAST WINDFIELD MAY BE REQUIRED
AND WIND WARNINGS FOR THESE COUNTIES MAY BE DISCONTINUED LATER TODAY
OR TONIGHT.

ST JOHNS AND FLAGLER COUNTIES...WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AFTER
SUNSET AND SHOULD REACH 65 TO 75 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS BETWEEN 10 PM
AND 4 AM. A GRADUAL DECREASE IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 5 AM.

DUVAL AND NASSAU COUNTIES...WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AROUND 10
PM AND SHOULD REACH 55 TO 65 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO HURRICANE FORCE
ALONG THE IMMEDIATE BEACHES...BETWEEN 1 AM AND 3 AM. A GRADUAL
DECREASE IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 5 AM.

CAMDEN AND GLYNN COUNTIES...WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AROUND
MIDNIGHT AND SHOULD BRIEFLY REACH 45 TO 55 MPH...WITH OCCASIONAL
GUSTS TO HURRICANE FORCE ALONG THE IMMEDIATE BEACHES. A GRADUAL
DECREASE IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 6 AM.

ALACHUA AND BRADFORD COUNTIES...WINDS OVER THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF
THE COUNTIES ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AROUND MIDNIGHT AND MAY BRIEFLY
REACH 25 TO 40 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO 50 MPH. A GRADUAL
DECREASE IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 6 AM. IF THE STORM CONTINUES
ON A MORE EASTWARD TRACK A REVISION OF THE FORECAST WINDFIELD MAY BE
REQUIRED AND WIND WARNINGS FOR THESE COUNTIES MAY BE DISCONTINUED
LATER TONIGHT.

BRANTLEY AND CHARLTON...WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AROUND
MIDNIGHT AND MAY BRIEFLY REACH 25 TO 40 MPH. A GRADUAL DECREASE IN
THE WINDS IS EXPECTED AFTER 8 AM. IF THE STORM CONTINUES ON A MORE
EASTWARD TRACK A REVISION OF THE FORECAST WINDFIELD MAY BE REQUIRED
AND WIND WARNINGS FOR THESE COUNTIES MAY BE DISCONTINUED LATER
TONIGHT.

...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
HURRICANE FORCE WINDS AND HIGH SEAS WILL DEVELOP OVER THE COASTAL
WATERS OVERNIGHT. MARINERS ARE ADVISED TO REMAIN IN PORT AND SWIMMERS
SHOULD REMAIN OUT OF THE WATER.  LARGE BREAKING WAVES AND SIGNIFICANT
BEACH EROSION ARE LIKELY NEAR AND NORTH OF WHERE THE CENTER EXITS THE
COAST.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS IS
POSSIBLE.

...TORNADO IMPACTS...
THERE WILL BE A RISK OF ISOLATED TORNADOES THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.
TORNADOES CAN AND DO FORM WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING...REMAIN ALERT
FOR DETERIORATING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.  STAY
TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR THE LOCAL MEDIA FOR POSSIBLE TORNADO
WARNINGS.
